Rules:
During the first few weeks of school, we will be learning, practicing, and reviewing our classroom expectations and procedures so we can all have a safe and fun place to learn. I believe that your child is going to do great things this year to succeed and do their very best!
Expectations of ALL students
I will give 100% effort
I will follow directions
I will be honest
I will READ at home and school
I will be respectful
I will have fun!
Rules:
1.) We will RAISE OUR HANDS if we would like to speak.
2.) We will do our JOB as learners in Mrs Norman's class.
3.) We will be respectful to EVERYONE in our school.
4.) We will sit ready to listen, keep our hands to ourselves, eyes on our speaker, and our mouths quiet.
Reward System:
Throughout everyday in our classroom I will be giving out “tickets” for positive behaviors that I see students display. Each Friday students will be able to cash in their tickets for a reward, or choose to save their tickets for an even larger reward later on.
Reward menu:
-Certificate of good behavior 15 Tickets
-Lunch with the teacher 20 Tickets
-Sit with a friend for the day 30 Tickets
-Treasure chest prize 30 Tickets
-Piece of candy 30 Tickets
-Teachers chair for the day 30 Tickets
-Pajama Day for the whole class 50 Tickets
-Movie or popsicle party for the whole class 75 Tickets
Consequences for unacceptable behavior:
1.) Verbal warning and reminder of our rules.
2.) Change color on clip chart. Each day students will start on Green and have the opportunity to move up or down depending on their behavior.
Pink- Role Model
Purple- Outstanding
Blue- Good Day
Green- Ready to Learn
Yellow- Think about it
Orange- Teachers Choice (this is where the student will lose a privilege such as having to work alone if they could not get along with a group, or losing their markers if they are coloring on their desk)
Red- Oh No! Stop! (this is when a parent will be contacted)
3.) Loss of recess or lunch with friends
4.) Write-Up & Visit with the Principal if behavior continues
*A behavior calendar will be posted in your student’s take home folder; we will color it in daily to help inform you of your child’s behavior for the day. This calendar will stay in the folder and I would like a parent to sign the box each day and write how many minutes their child read to ensure that they are being received by a parent. Thank you so much for your support!
